The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival is back for its 4th edition, taking place at House On Fire, in Eswatini, on the 30th of September and the 1st of October. The festival is a lavish two-day feast of music, fashion, entertainment, culinary exploits, and connoisseur-led premium wine and whiskey showcases.

The 2022 festival offers Mozambican fans something special with the inclusion of Cape Verdean / Portuguese singer Lura, as well as Mozambican artist Radjha Ali. The festival will also be a great opportunity to see star performers from the region, such as the King of Dance, Zakes Bantwini, and Ami Faku, who has mesmerized audiences since her debut on Season Two of The Voice SA. Eswatini’s own Afro-Soul sensation, Msimisi, and many more on the line-up too!

The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival is one of the signature events in the region that encourage creative ties between Eswatini and Mozambique, supporting the creative industry and cultural tourism, thus enriching the broader creative economy and making opportunities available for the tourism industry of both countries.

Marco Vaz dos Anjos, Director-General of the National Institute for Tourism in Mozambique (INATURA), shared a few words on the subject:

“The festivals in Eswatini are famous. People from countries like Mozambique, Lesotho and South Africa come here and feel free. People in Mozambique like entertainment and getting together! If we take into consideration that we spent the last two years locked down because of Covid-19, now is the time to get together and to recover economically. Tourism is about opportunities, and we see here that there is a good thing happening, so we want Mozambican people to experience the same vibe.”

This increased regional collaboration is reflected in the growing support for the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival from companies such as GALP, which is fuelling the wider appreciation of Mozambican and Portuguese language and culture by supporting acts like Radjha Ali and Lura at Luju 2022.

The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival also presents a good opportunity to stay a little longer in Eswatini and take in some of the many interesting traditional, cultural and wildlife attractions near to the festival, as well as the fantastic natural scenery.

With The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival taking place over two days this year, guests will have the option to stay on-site in ready erected tents, with plug points in the larger ones. Camping options are available for Friday night and Saturday night.
