CULINARY THEME

ROOTS

With the Culinary theme, we go deep into the soil, unearthing the power of plants as a sustaining source of health and heritage. We plant our feet firmly in the ground and explore the foods that keep us rooted in who we are. With a growing interest in conscious healthy diets, many people are migrating towards plant-based diets. Throughout Africa, chefs are presenting innovative dishes celebrating food from the soil, particularly embracing heritage plants that have been home staples for centuries.

FASHION THEME

AFRICAN FUTURISM

Celebrating the revolutionary power of Fashion. African Futurism is a celebratory artistic and cultural movement that embraces African history and heritage, blending fantasy and futuristic concepts to envision a future driven by Africans.

Festivalgoers are invited to curate their looks to convey and honour their unique perspectives, roots and individuality. The theme draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including traditional African clothing, futuristic designs, as well as retro and avant-garde fashion movements.
