A Return to the African Future
“A Return to the African Future” is a bold declaration of Africa’s evolving story. It is an invitation to reclaim our precolonial heritage, reimagine our African identity and reconnect with the traditions that sustained our forefathers as we carve a future powered by African innovation.
Embrace the resilience of Africa’s rich cultures, flaunt its authenticity and be part of its pioneering spirit expressed lavishly through the festival’s food, music and fashion experiences.
The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival is a lavish 2-day feast of culinary exploits, high-end fashion, Afrocentric music and wholesome family-friendly entertainment held annually at House On Fire in Eswatini.
As one of the leading food and fashion events in Southern Africa, Luju celebrates the sophistication and elegance of African style, cultures, creative design and delicacies. Come ready to #EatSwayLove with the festival’s tastefully curated programme of culinary demonstrations by celebrity chefs, connoisseur-led premium wine and whiskey showcases and a world-class regional fashion show.
Luju consciously uses the festival platform to stimulate the creative economy, promote cultural tourism, advance sustainability and support small-business growth through a series of creative initiatives and skills development programmes.
With the Culinary theme, we go deep into the soil, and explore the foods that keep us rooted in who we are. This year, we unearth the power of plants as a sustaining source of health and heritage through innovative dishes that honour the plants that have been home staples for centuries.
African Futurism is a celebratory artistic and cultural movement that embraces African history and heritage, blending fantasy and futuristic concepts to envision a future driven by Africans.
