In 2026, we usher in a bold, new era for one of Southern Africa’s leading food and fashion events, the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival!
In an exciting evolution inspired by the festival’s remarkable growth and impact, the 8th edition of the Luju Festival will, for the very first time, unfold across two full weekend days. So, mark your calendars and prepare to #EatSwayLove from Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd August 2026 at House On Fire in Malkerns, Eswatini.
With the festival’s increased regional appeal and attendance, this extended format asserts the Luju Festival as a true weekend destination and vibrant catalyst for cultural tourism in the continent. In 2025 alone, Luju welcomed over 10,000 attendees from 26 countries. So, this extended full 2-day format presents an even more immersive experience for audiences traveling from different parts of Africa.
In true Luju style, the festival promises a lavish celebration of African style, cultures, creative design and delicacies in all their sophisticated splendour. The festival’s tastefully curated programme will once again present the finest culinary demonstrations by celebrity chefs, connoisseur-led premium wine and whiskey showcases, a world-class regional fashion runway show and a vibrant lineup of Pan-African music, all delivered with Luju’s unmistakable sense of elegance and artistic prowess.
The expanded festival format invites festivalgoers to linger longer and connect more deeply with enhanced culinary showcases, more runway moments and a wider music lineup. What’s more, lovers of fashion will also have the opportunity to flaunt their cultural pride and creative interpretations of the Luju’s annual themes with two distinct outfits across Saturday and Sunday, further elevating the festival’s fashion-forward identity and creative flair.
At its core, the festival remains driven by House On Fire and Standard Bank Eswatini’s shared mandate of developing the creative economy, promoting sustainability and unlocking opportunities for small-business growth. In 2025, the festival’s 103 small-medium entrepreneurs (SMEs), 85% of whom were from Eswatini, generated over E2.5 million in sales. The new 2-day festival format means higher foot traffic, longer trading hours and greater impact for the small businesses, artisans and entrepreneurs who reinforce the festival’s purpose.
Guided by its founding philosophy, “A Return to the African Future”, the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival continues to amplify Africa’s evolving story. The festival summons us to reclaim our heritage, reimagine our African identity and reconnect with the traditions that sustained our forefathers as we carve a future powered by African innovation.
Luju 2026 invites attendees, partners and sponsors to embrace the resilience of Africa’s rich cultures, flaunt its unrivalled authenticity and be part of its pioneering spirit expressed richly through the festival’s food, music and fashion experiences.
Join us for another spirited celebration of African creativity rooted in purpose, sustainability and cultural pride.
